Description of project and services rendered

The objective of this project is to strengthen the planning institutions, more specifically the technical coordination cell of the Planning Department, in evaluating proposed projects and following-up on the ones selected. To accomplish this objective of institutional strengthening, P.A. Management International (Canada) Inc. had to recruit a person with a high level technical background. In its capacity as planner of the national economy, the Planning Department spearheaded the project.

Our expert then had to hire technical assistants in the areas of control, planning, EDP, civil and mining engineering, who's functions were:

The control expert

  1. To identify and elaborate the procedures for physical controls;
  2. To formulate a procedure for the movement of information;
  3. To design and implement a data bank;
  4. To submit a monthly activity report;

The planning expert to assist in the implementation of a system for the evaluation of the progress of the 1985 - 1990 five-year Plan, as well as in the preparation of the 1991 - 1995 plan.

The expert in EDP

  1. To assist the information management section in its automation efforts and train the EDP staff;
  2. To design an automated project coordination model.

The expert in civil engineering

  1. To support the managerial staff of the technical coordination cell, in areas such as transportation, telecommunications, water, purification, energy and public works;
  2. To transfer that knowledge to the TCC's staff.

The expert in mining engineering

  1. To assist in the evaluation and follow-up of mining projects included in the five-year Plan;
  2. To develop and implement a system of monitoring for mining projects.
