Description of project and services rendered

The objective of this assignment is the design, enhancement, set-up and maintenance of an information system to aid in the process of standardization in each of the member states of CARICOM, and to strengthen the regional system at the CARICOM Regional Organization for Standards and Quality (CROSQ). This is aimed at helping supply information that facilitates market access to entrepreneurs and coordinating activities within the national standardization system in each country, and amongst countries of the region. This objective will be achieved by the development of a secure and networked standards and related information database, website and online collaboration system to facilitate collaboration, communication and information sharing on standards, standards development and trade related matters amongst member states stakeholders, and with the international community.

The team will conduct the following activities:
  • Propose and have approved the choice of off-the-shelf software solutions
  • Design and build the graphic interfaces, optimized according to parameters of usability
  • Construct, parameterize and integrate the services and software that make up the solution
  • Submit a working prototype of the Document Management System and the Library Information System, the collaborative workspace and the web portal for pre-approval by CROSQ then the fully developed system
  • Prepare the technical documentation: design, construction, administration and support
  • Prepare end user documentation: manual for on and offline use
  • Install the developed solutions on the CROSQ server
  • Provide on-the-job training and 2 three-day training sessions
  • Transfer the solution to CROSQ IT staff responsible for its administration and use
  • Provide maintenance, support and any required changes for one year.
